fuck this shit

it is entirely inconsistent with elizabeth’s character for her to drop everything (PIRATE KING thank you very much) to raise a child as a landlubber

give me elizabeth, eight months pregnant, still running the show from shipwreck cove

give me elizabeth and her six-year-old son cabin boy kicking ass and taking names as they outrun the royal navy

give me elizabeth, instead of waiting for will, sailing out to meet him

give me elizabeth dying at sea four years and one week later and signing aboard the flying dutchman to the shock of its captain

give me elizabeth and will co-captaining the dutchman and sailing the seas beyond the edge of the world for eternity together

give me young billy (i’m forced to assume they, as pirates, are unimaginative when it comes to names) telling the story of william turner, who gave up everything for the woman he loved, and elizabeth swann, who took it back with sword and pistol

I just sort of assumed that this is what happened, and she and her son were only waiting on land, because it was Will’s one day ashore, and they wanted to spend it together?

Because nobody can ever convince me that Elizabeth was willing to give up being a pirate just because she was married and pregnant.

As far as I’m concerned, Elizabeth left Shipwreck Cove with her fleet of ships (the ones she inherited from Sao Feng) and started up her own crew.  She recruited Anamaria as first mate, because Anamaria had lost her ship again, but eventually she gave Anamaria her own ship and Anamaria sailed under Elizabeth’s colors.  Everyone told stories about the Captains Turner, how they sailed the seas in separate ships, but met up on the water whenever a sailor left the world.  That the Dutchman’s Captain would anchor his ship and take a dingy to meet his wife and spend time with his son whenever possible.

That even though the Dutchman’s captain was a fearsome pirate, he never missed his son’s birthday, and he visited his wife whenever a soul left this world on water.  That Bootstrap Bill was the best pirate grandfather ever, coming for visits and bringing presents to little Billy at least once a month, if not more.

Meanwhile Elizabeth Turner the Pirate King became the most feared and respected pirate on the seven seas, and entire fleet at her command.  But unlike most pirates, she didn’t attack indiscriminately.  She only attacked the corrupt and dishonest.  The pirates under her never raped when pillaging for fear of their Captain’s punishments if they were caught.

I don’t know how anyone could actually believe that Elizabeth just settled down on land and raised her son there.  It makes NO SENSE.
