Detroit teachers stage another sickout protest

Detroit’s got a major problem on its hands. Most of its teachers are fed up — so fed up, in fact, that they’re staging a district-wide sickout forcing 94 of the city’s 97 public schools to close on Monday. The teachers staged a similar sickout in January over deplorable school conditions, today’s protest is in response to a frightening email about their salaries after June 30,

How is this school even allowed to be open? Why doesn’t the government care???? (Even though I know why 🙄)

You know what’s really sickening? We have social media now so this is likely to be seen by people who aren’t in or from Detroit. You would think that would be enough to have these deplorable conditions fixed but nope. There has to be a national outcry for that. If this doesn’t trend, this will likely be ignored.
