WIZARDING SCHOOLS AROUND THE WORLD: DUBAI

The Dubai School for Gifted Magic Folk is a relatively small school that is split between two locations: a mansion that is concealed from muggle eyes by shifting sands, and a series of houses on an island just off of the coast. There are a series of portkeys and portals on each of the campuses that lead to the other for easy navigation, although some extremely bright students have figured out how to cast trick enchantments on portkeys and passageways to make them temporarily lead to other places (the furthest diversion achieved sent a confused student across the Strait of Hormuz to Iran). It is the most recently established school in the international wizarding community, and it is the most modern in its studies and practices. The school is very accepting of muggle technology, and it is largely experimental in a type of magic that is a combination of traditional charms and technology manipulation. The secondary island campus hosts traditional classes such as Magical Spices and Their Uses, Water Manipulation, and Sea Creatures Studies.
